Dr Wollin is a highly experienced and qualified sport and exercise physiotherapist and clinical researcher with expertise in football, sport and exercise-related groin and hamstring problems and prevention systems. Dr Wollin has been clinically active in elite sport over the last two decades holding positions of High-Performance Manager, Head of Medical and Physiotherapy, National Team Physiotherapist, Senior Sports Physiotherapist, Clinical Manager and athlete rehabilitation Lead. This has encompassed professional football in the UK and Australia and over 10 years at the Australian Institute of Sport. Dr Wollin completed a PhD at La Trobe Sports and Exercise Medicine Research Centre investigating alternative and complementary prevention strategies for groin and hamstring injuries in elite football. The dissertation outlined and highlighted clinical testing, prevention and management of groin and hamstring problems in football using novel proactive performance health management structures in elite football. The results demonstrated real-world improvements of players groin and hamstring health and availability to train and compete.
Dr Wollin is a registered physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and the Health and Care Professions Council in the United Kingdom. Martin is a Titled Sport and Exercise Physiotherapist with the Australian Physiotherapy Association and holds a football conditioning license with Football Federation Australia. His current academic and research affiliations include La Trobe University Melbourne, University of Canberra and University of Newcastle.
